Subsidised rates are offered at Circus Centre Melbourne’s discretion and are primarily used for Circus & Physical Theatre artists and companies. 

After receiving your booking enquiry, we’ll either promptly send you a quote or give you a quick call to confirm the details to make sure we understand all your requirements. Your quote will include room hire and may also cover staffing and cleaning if needed. When it comes to payment, we can provide flexible terms and payment plans.

Other Charges:

• A non-negotiable cleaning fee will be added to venue hire over a week. Any additional cleaning costs will be quoted prior to booking confirmation.
• Additional staffing costs may also be required if the booking is outside of staffed hours (currently 09:00am – 05:00pm M-F) 
• Some items are listed as ‘available upon arrangement’ and may have an extra cost. We’ll chat through your needs first and let you know about any additional charges before we send your official quote.

All artists and companies must:

• Hold current Public Liability Insurance
• Sign a Space Booking Agreement
• Complete a Venue Safety Induction

Booking length:

• The minimum hire period is four hours, except for the Square Room which can be booked hourly.
• Additional hours beyond this will default to a full day hire.
• When booking for 4-hour block only, this must be booked for a morning or afternoon slot 09:00 – 13:00 (AM) or 13:15 -17:15 (PM).
• The Studio must be booked in consecutive full days. Adding a 4-hour block on the front or back end of the booking is permitted (e.g. 13:15 – 17:15 [PM slot] Monday and full day Tuesday, or full day Tuesday and 09:00 – 13:00 [AM slot] Wednesday).
• Our maximum booking length is one month, if you’re looking for a long-term home, please reach out to our team.

Staffing:

• A CCM staff member must always be present during venue hires. Between 9-5pm Monday to Friday this is covered within regular staffing. However outside of these hours additional staffing fees may be charged to the hirer.
• If casual staff are required, then a 3 – 4 hour minimum call will be required.

Rigging needs?

• Let us know in your application if you would like to use any CCM equipment, are bringing your own aerial apparatus or require a variation on the standard aerial rigging plan.

Site visits:

• To arrange a site visit, first submit a booking enquiry online. As our spaces are frequently booked, site visits are by appointment only.

Complex events:

• Depending on the complexity of the hire, a production meeting may be required with our team.
• Appropriate production and compliance documentation may be requested.

Care and conduct:

• Hirers are expected to adhere to our code of conduct, outlined in our full Terms & Conditions.
• Hirers must leave the room, furniture and equipment in a tidy, clean and respectable condition.
• Electrical items must be tested and tagged. We are working towards being able to offer on-site test and tagging.
